For their installation it was modified the orography and were sacrificed parts inhabited and public structures, even sacred. Every complex was designed in conceptual and physical relationship with the previous ones, and they communicated through openings on various sides.
From the viewpoint urban and architectural, the Imperial Forums are monumental squares arcaded with exedra, with axial and centralized installation; a quadrangular shape, have dimensions and orientation different, in relation to the spaces and, in part, to a preexisting structure; the end wall was emphasized by the temple dedicated to the protecting divinity of Emperor, whose presence was evoked repeatedly by his representation on horseback or in a quadriga, the inscriptions with the name and symbolic references of iconography and decorative motifs.
