Italian public Museum: ticket reductions
Reduced tickets: discount for citizens of the EU aged 18 to 25 years of age and teachers of Italian public schools with a permanent job.
Entitled to free admission are:
- citizens of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland under the age of eighteen or over the age of sixty five.
- teachers and students enrolled in the faculties of architecture, cultural heritage conservation and educational sciences or on degree courses in literature or literary subjects with an archaeological or historic-artistic specialisation in the faculties of literature and philosophy (students must display a valid certificate of enrolment for the current academic year)
- teachers and students enrolled in the Fine Arts Academies (students must display a valid certificate of enrolment for the current academic year)
- tour guides in the exercise of their professional activities (upon display of a valid licence issued by the competent authority)
- tourist interpreters when their assistance is required alongside the guide (upon display of a valid licence issued by the competent authority)
- personnel of the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities
- ICOM members (International Council of Museums)
- for reasons of study or research, certified by schools or universities, academies, research and cultural institutes in Italy and abroad, and by the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities, or for specific motivated requirements, the heads of the institutions may allow free admission for specified periods to persons making request thereto
Note: On demonstration of belonging to an age group and/or disability group, ID will be requested. Where proof of what has been declared cannot occur, the visitor will be obliged to pay full price for the ticket.
All citizens with disabilities and the accompanying person who can demonstrate a medical certificate to testify disability will have the right to a free ticket.
Pay attention: the commission for online booking (from € 3.50 to € 5.50), entitlement to reservation (from € 3.00 to € 3.50) and any supplements for temporary exhibitions in the museum is an amount that has to be paid, except for children under six years of age, people with disabilities and the accompanying person.
We kindly ask not to include in the ticket request any communication regarding people with disabilities and the accompanying person, same for children under six years of age. In this case the ticket will not be necessary, same for the reservation and the free ticket.
Refunds
Partial reimbursement due to cancellations or booking variations will be received within 30 days upon confirmation of by Italy Travels to the client who has requested, in written form, the cancellation. Bank fees are issued to the client. Credit card payments will be refunded directly back to the client's credit card. If payment was sent by bank transfer, Italy Travels will provide refund through bank transfer. It will be client responsability to provide precise bank account details to Italy Travels, in written form. Bank fees (for Italian or foreign bank transfers) are issued to the client and will be taken from the reimbursement amount.
In all cases, cancellations must be requested in written form by email or fax in order to receive a partial refund (according to the below cancellation policy). The date of the cancellation request is the day when the request is received by Italy Travels in written form. For this reason, valid cancellation requests will not be accepted by phone unless accompanied by a written document.

Requests of changes must always be communicated in writing by email. Visitors must always print out the modified voucher and show the print-out at the ticket office on the day of the tour.
DATE CHANGE RULES FOR MUSEUMS
ENTRANCE TO THE VATICAN MUSEUMS, VATICAN GARDENS AND PONTIFICAL RESIDENCES OF CASTEL GANDOLFO
Reservations for the Vatican Museums are not refundable under any circumstances. Furthermore, it is not possible to modify the reservation in any way, nor the date, nor the time, nor the type of ticket, nor the name of the visitor. Please therefore pay maximum attention when booking.
NOTE: after booking the Borghese Gallery, Castel Sant'Angelo,National Roman Museum, the Baths of Caracalla, Villa Adriana, Colosseum, Capitoline Museums, Trajan Markets, may not be changed, canceled, or refunded for any reason.

For the purposes of calculating the cancellation fee, we will use the date of receipt of the client's cancellation request. For these purposes, requests for cancellation received by telephone, without anything in writing, will not be considered valid.

CANCELLATION POLICY – PRIVATE GUIDED TOURS
From booking to four working days before the tour date, the cancellation fee is 30% of the total price of the tour. For cancellations communicated to Italy Travels 3 or fewer working days prior to the day of the tour, the cancellation penalty applied is the full amount of the tour (100% of the total price), i.e. there is no right to any refund. This cancellation policy will be applied proportionally for partial cancellations for groups based on the number of participants in a tour.
CANCELLATION POLICY — GUIDED GROUP TOURS
From booking to 5 working days before the day of the tour, the cancellation fee is 40% of the total price of the tour. For cancellations communicated to Italy Travels 4 or fewer working days prior to the day of the tour, the cancellation penalty is the full amount of the tour (100% of the total price), i.e. there is no right to any refund.
NOTE: For the following guided tours: Colosseum under the Moon, Colosseum with the Third Tier, Colosseum with Belverdere, Moon on the Roman Forum, Baths of Caracalla at Night and Domus Aurea no changes may be made and no refunds will be given after booking for cancellations, no-shows, or visitors unable to take the tour for whatever reason.
