CASTEL SANT'ANGELO GUIDED TOUR - THE SECRET CASTLE SPECIAL OPENING

The "Secret Castle" is the name given to this new tour of Castel Sant'Angelo, a project that gives visitors the opportunity to go down to the heart of the monument and visit some sections usually closed to the public for safety reasons. The conformation of these environments in fact makes them not suitable for being visited by many visitors at the same time. These are rather narrow areas with sometimes winding access points. The opening to visitors of these areas is therefore limited to the participants of this tour to be considered an exceptional and exclusive event.
The visit takes place in small groups accompanied by an official guide who comments on the itinerary in English. This tour is also available in Italian.
The itinerary includes a visit to the historic Prisons, the so-called Oliare, rooms that were once used as food warehouses, the Lion's Courtyard, the room called "il Forno" and the Stufetta, a tiny room that was once the bathroom of Pope Clement VII, particularly famous for being decorated with frescoes from Raphael's workshop.

The reservation to access the tour is mandatory.
