This tour combination includes fast entrance to the basilica and the Dome digital guided tour.
You will be able to enter using our fast track for the Basilica avoiding long lines. Once inside, the experience includes a digital audio-tour ) of St. Peter's Basilica and its dome. The papal Dome is the highest building in Rome. For this reason, you will enjoy the spectacular view of the Eternal City and of the Vatican area from the top.
Please be aware that the ticket to the Dome is NOT INCLUDED and should be paid at the Dome entrance. The Basilica staff will help you in downloading the audio-guide for both sites on your smart device.

Ticket Reductions
Children 7-17 years old - reduced ticket: 20,00 euro.
Children under 7 years old enter free.
People over 75 years old are not admitted to this tour as the climb to the Dome is very strenuous.
Meeting point with the guide: the meeting point is – facing the Basilica - under the right side colonnade*, just in the middle, precisely in correspondence of the Police hurdle (see drawing below).The staff - wearing a blue jacket with the Vox Mundi logo printed on it - will wait for you to accompany you, through a dedicated gate, inside the Basilica.
Important notes
The elevator brings you to the first level of the dome. To reach the top you will need to climb approximately 300 additional steps.
This tour is not recommended for claustrophobic people, those who suffer from vertigo, have walking difficulty or are over 75 years old.
It is allowed to photograph If you do not have a suitable device you can ask staff at the welcome desk for a traditional audio guide. To collect the traditional audio guide you will be asked for a form of ID that will be held until the return of the device.
A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
Not recommended for pregnant women. Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions. Not recommended for participants with back problems. Not wheelchair accessible. No personal food or drink allowed.
On Wednesdays, access to St. Peter's Basilica and Square may be closed at the time of the morning tour due to the Papal Audience Please note: Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation last entrance will be at 3pm.
The Saint Peter's Basilica and Dome tour itinerary
Meet in front of the Vatican post office to be escorted inside the papal Basilica by a fast entrance. Enjoy the self guided tour of the Basilica and of the Dome.
As you enter the church, you will notice that its interior is much bigger than any other Basilica in the world. The Basilica is a UNESCO world heritage site. Your 2-hour audio-guided tour gives you the chance to visit the Basilica at your leasure. The ticket to the Dome is not included. The staff of the Vatican Basilica will help you in purchasing the ticket. The ticket to climb up to the Dome by elevator is 10 euros per person. You will avoid climbing up 171 steps by th elevator. From here, you can admire the amazing mosaics that decorate the interior side of the Dome.
You will still need to climb roughly 300 steps to the very top of the dome. The highest point visitors can reach called “La Lanterna” (the Lantern).
