The Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome hosts from the 19th of October to the 03 June, an exposition about the great master of the Impressionism Monet.
The expostion is curated by Marianne Mathieu and it is held at the Ala Brasini of the Complesso del Vittoriano.
This is a unmissable chance to do a real journey through the artistic careen of Monet. 60 works coming from the Marmottan Museum of Paris are exposed: works that at the beginning were part of the collection that the artist kept in his house of Giverny and that his son later donated to the museum in Paris.
The expositional path includes the first works of the artist, the canvas representing the rural and citizen landscape of London and Paris (where we can perceive his study of the light), his son's portraits and the cancas dedicated to nature and the flowers of his garden, as the famous "Water Lilies".
Almost every works were painted "en plein air" ( open air) in his beloved garden in Giverny. It was Monet who created the "en plein air" picture who became peculiar of the Impressionist movement.
