Exposition at the Vittoriano – Monet. Masterpieces from the Marmottan Museum in Paris. 

A fascinating guided tour with a private guide aimed at the discovery of one of the most influential character of Impressionism, Claude Monet. The temporary exposition at the Complesso del Vittoriano, visible from the 19 of October 2017 to the 3rd of June 2018, collects 60 works of the great master coming from the Marmottan Museum of Paris. Splendid masterpieces of Monet will be visible, a unique chance to admire the famous and unrevealed paintings of this genius of the painting.

Duration: around 2 hours

Language: English. The tour is available in all the main foreign languages.

Available time of entrance: the visitor can choose the time of entrance among the following band: 09:30 am - 5:30 pm. During the weekend the tour may begin also on a time between 6:00 pm and 06:30 pm.

Price includes: private guide service and reserved access with no line. Groups larger than 10 participants will be provided with earphones for a better hearing of the explanation of the guide.

4-11 years old children (not accomplished) participate at the tour with reduced fare and need to be signalled in the reservation form. 


THE EXPOSITION - MONET AT THE VITTORIANO COMPLEX

The private guide tour dedicated to Claude Monet include an explanation of the biography of the painter, of the peculiarities of his painting and how his work is included inside the frame if the French Impressionism movement, where Monet is without doubt one of the main member. The guide will underline on the most important works exposed. At the end of the tour, visitors can stay inside the exposition as long as they want.

Marianne Mathieu is the curator of the exposition, placed at the Ala Brasini of the Complesso del Vittoriano. This is a not-to-be-missed chance to do a real journey through the artistic career of Monet. The 60 works exposed in the beginning were part of the collection of Monet’s house in Giverny, and later the painter’s son donated them to the museum in Paris.

The museum path includes the first works of the artist, the canvas representing rural and urban landscapes of London and Paris (where we perceive his study of the light), the portraits of the sons and the canvas dedicated to nature and the flower of the his garden, as the famous “Water Lilies”.

Almost every works were painted “en plein air” (open-air) in his beloved garden of Giverny. Monet created than the open-air painting that became peculiar of the Impressionism.
